Senior High Synod Gathering

January 14-16th all the high school students in our synod will be gathering in Austin for a weekend full of fun. There is workshops, study, worship, speakers, and a great opportunity to hang with some new friends. Sign up now with the youth staff by emailing Bri.

National Youth Gathering

We have a large group of students heading to the National Youth Gathering (NYG) in New Orleans in 2012! So please keep watch for all our fund-raisers and prep events for this awesome opportunity! 

High school Youth

On Wednesday nights, we run on a three-week rotation between Bible study, walking to Starbucks, and hanging out in the youth room and playing some Wii. So make sure to check your Weekly Youth Update to see what’s happening this Wednesday from 7:30-9 pm. We also have a few kids who come early to do their homework and eat food at 5 pm in the Fellowship Hall. It's a good opportunity to catch up on what you know you need to get done before we get together in the evening. In between dinner and youth is worship, 7 pm, which our youth participate as readers, musicians, or just worshipers. It's a quick meditative Holden Evening Prayer (30 min total) which is a great way to just get yourself settled mid-week.

Fig Leaf

While on our Chicago mission trip last summer our students developed a passion for serving the poor in their local community. When we came back we became connected with the University United Methodist Church downtown and their Saturday meals and free store. Every third Saturday of the month from 9 am to 12 pm we help out at Fig Leaf (the free store) and serve the homeless population of Austin. It's a really amazing experience, and we are grateful to be a part of it.

Confirmation

Confirmation is an opportunity for middle school youth to continue their Christian formation as they learn about the chief parts of the Christian faith, build relationships with youth and caring adult mentors, enjoy fellowship with each other, worship regularly, and serve others.

• 6th Grade Confirmation, Sunday, 9:30 am (September-May)
• 7th & 8th Grade Confirmation, Wednesdays, 6 pm (September-May)
